Alex's five days.

Based on a true story from a Wisayo user. Names have been changed for privacy.

Day 1. The week from hell, on paper.

Sunday night I opened my calendar and my stomach dropped. Thursday: project review. And the thing that wasn't in any calendar but had been sitting on my chest for a month: the money talk with Sofia. Every time I imagined it, I heard myself sounding like an accountant, and saw her going quiet. I'd seen the Wisayo ad a few times. Another app promising to fix my life, I thought. Fine. It's less than a dollar. I decided to try it out. Setting up my profile took two minutes. I added Sofia as my key person and went to bed, curious, not convinced.

Day 2. The fight that didn't happen.

I woke up decided: tonight's the night. I'd even rehearsed my opening in the shower. But all morning a little voice kept asking: what if it blows up again? Then I opened Wisayo to check my today’s insight.

The insight said, that my strength with Sofia today was listening. She might need to feel heard before she was ready to hear me.

Honestly? My first reaction was irritation. If I wait, I'll never do it. But I'd tried it my way twice, and both times ended with her in the other room. Under the insight was a list of suggested follow up questions and I picked the one: "How to support Sofia by listening her?"

I tapped it to send it to the chat. The answer was simple, suggesting to ask about her week and don't steer the conversation. I asked two follow-up questions to get better picture. So that's what I did at dinner. She told me how drained her new manager had left her, things I'd had no idea about. And I realized that if I'd brought up money that night, it would have been a disaster. We ended the evening on the couch, her feet in my lap, laughing at some silly show.

Day 3. The rehearsal.

On the train I kept writing and deleting the same sentence in my notes. Everything I wrote sounded like blame: you spend, I save.

Today's insight: my strength that day was calm, clear communication, a good day to prepare for something important.

Suggested follow-up: "How to not sound critical in a conversation?"

I tapped it. Wisayo suggested starting with the future we both want, not the bills behind us. That stopped me, because it was true: I wasn't angry about money, I was scared about our plans. Then I asked my own question, the one that had been bothering me most: "What if she gets defensive anyway?" I continue chatting and by my stop, I'd used four of my five chats for the day, and I had a first sentence I actually believed. I saved it to Favorites.

Day 4. The window.

My heart was pounding all day. Is any day really the right day?

Today's insight: the day favored honest, open conversation with Sofia, a good moment for a topic I'd been putting off.

Suggested follow-up: “What is the best way to start the conversation?"

I used all 5 my chats to check my opening one last time. That evening I sat beside her, not across from her, and said the sentence from my Favorites. Sofia didn't fold her arms. She leaned in and said: "I've been worried about that too." We talked for an hour, and ended with a plan, not a fight. I still remember how light I felt going to bed.

Day 5. Walking in ready.

Review day. I know my habit: I lead with everything I've done, and by slide three I've lost the room.

Today's insight: my strength was focus and influence.

This time I didn't need the suggested question. I asked my own: "How do I present my project so my manager sees the impact in five minutes?" I walked in and opened with the one result my manager cares about most, and kept the rest for questions. The questions came, and I was ready for every one.

Day 6. No charge. No catch.

The pass ended quietly, with no surprise charge. I looked back at those five days: one hard conversation that became a plan, one review that went my way. Four days earlier I'd been dreading this week. I chose upgrade to Starter, and picked up right where I left off.
